Cookie policy

Introduction

We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of the visitors to our websites and users of our services. This includes providing transparent information about how use cookies.

“We” are ReadyTech Corporation and the entities which we own. For more information about us see Section 8 of our privacy policy which is available here.

About cookies

In case you don’t know, a cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server.

We use both “persistent” and “session” cookies. A persistent cookie is stored by a web browser and remains valid until it expires unless deleted by the user. A session cookie, on the other hand, expires at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

Cookies we set

We store cookies in your browser when you use our websites. The cookies we use can be grouped into the following categories.

Session cookies

We use session cookies to help us to determine if you are logged into our website. These cookies play an important role in the security of our websites and applications. Examples of cookies we use for this purpose are SESSION, JSESSIONID, and PHPSESSID. Without these cookies, our websites will not function correctly.

Personalization cookies

We also use persistent cookies which help us to personalize our websites and applications for you. For example, all users initially see the English version of our websites but if you choose to view the website in a different language we set a cookie so that if you come back later we can display the website in your preferred language. Examples of cookies used for this purpose are language, NG_TRANSLATE_LANG_KEY, CUSTOMER, REMEMBER_ME, and RtmgmtCustomerName. Without these cookies, we cannot remember your preferences from one session to the next.

Acknowledgment cookie

We use a cookie to record the fact that you were shown and acknowledged our cookie policy. This cookie is called: cookieconsent_status. If you block or delete this cookie, the cookie policy alert will be displayed each time you visit our website.

Managing cookies

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies and to delete cookies. The methods for doing so vary from browser to browser, and from version to version. However, we have provided links where you get up-to-date information about blocking and deleting cookies for the most common browsers:

Although most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies, many websites, including ours, will not function correctly if you block or delete all cookies.

Refusing or deleting our cookies

If you refuse the session cookies on our websites you will not be able to log into our applications. If you refuse or delete the persistent cookies our websites will generally still work but we will not remember your preferences. For example, if you check the Remember Me checkbox on one of our login pages and then refuse or delete the cookie we set to remember you, you will not be remembered the next time you visit the website.

Refusing or deleting the Google Analytics, HubSpot and OpenTracker cookies

If you refuse the Google Analytics, HubSpot, or OpenTracker cookies our websites will work normally, however, your data will not be included in the aggregated reports we get. We use these reports to make important decisions about product features and behavior. For example, when determining what languages to translate our websites to we look at the reports that show what percentage of our users come from which countries. If you refuse or delete the Google, HubSpot, or OpenTracker cookies our websites and applications are less likely to be optimized for you.

Refusing or deleting the CloudFlare cookies

We also use OpenTracker on our marketing website to analyze the use of the website. OpenTracker uses cookies to collect information as you navigate the marketing site. The OpenTracker cookies are: _otor, _otpe, _ots, _otui. For more information on how OpenTracker uses cookies see their privacy policy here.

CloudFlare

If you refuse the CloudFlare cookies our websites will work but you may get worse performance. We use CloudFlare to cache static content for our websites (HTML, Javascript, images, etc.) around the world so our websites load faster for users. CloudFlare only caches our website data, not your private data.

Refusing or deleting the Surfly cookies

If you refuse the Surfly cookies you will not be able to use the co-browse functionality on our websites. Co-browsing may be used when you contact technical support and may be used as part of the virtual classroom.
